Natural Disaster Assistance Programs for Hemp Farmers

Hemp has been legal in the United States since 2018. Now an insurable business with federally backed relief programs, more hemp farmers are realizing there is government assistance available.

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has introduced two hemp relief programs that help farmers recover when natural disasters occur.

Multi-Peril Crop Insurance

This insurance covers against loss of yield of hemp grown for Cannabidiol Oil (CBD), Fiber, Grain, etc.

Non insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program

If there is no federal insurance crop program available in certain areas, NAP still provides basic 50/55 coverage against loss to farmers yields.
